Avalon feat. Emma Landford – Take Me Higher

Avalon struts his way into the suSU playground and delivers the whopping great vocal cut ‘Take Me higher’.

A perfect moveable feast of soulful bliss complete with dreamy piano tinklings, funky guitar and most importantly a groove to die for! The track features the tantalising vocals of Birmingham Soul sista Emma Landford, who is probably best known for her fantastic work with Peppermint Jam’s Mousse T on the chart topper ‘Horny’ and club smash, ‘Fire’.

The remix treatment comes courtesy of Chichester’s champion of all things Soulful, Richard Earnshaw who was responsible for the awesome ‘People Are People‘ and ‘Joyride’ for the US acclaimed label, Soulfuric. Mr Earnshaw delivers a vocal groover oozing with glamour and sparkle, then flips the script and offers an ultra smooth dub.

K-Klass vs Frances Nero – Footsteps

‘Footsteps’ is a big old circuit tune getting a more than welcome reissue, and now packaged with a remix from a well chosen production crew, the news just keeps on getting better.

The semi new wave number gets a big old club style treatment from the K-Klass crew and with it’s added freshness and KK production spice, one can’t deny that it feels damn good to hear this old monster breaking out from the sound systems once again.

Dancefloors rejoice, we’re taking it back to the old school.

Rue St Denis – Getting Down With The Sunshine

‘Getting Down With The Sunshine’ sees the laidback sexy sound of summer captured by the grooving vocal from Jeff Patterson and the funky production from Jamie White and Jim Lee.

Jamie White is a legend in dance. He first hit the headlines as PF Project signed to EMI imprint Positiva. His ‘Choose Life’ single that sampled Ewan McGregor’s opening speech to the Trainspotting film went straight in at No.6 in the UK and proceeded to sell over 120,000 units here alone. After that he went from strength to strength with ‘Sounds Of The Wickedness’ by Tzant (No. 11 UK), ‘Given Up’ by Mirrorball (No. 12 UK) before forming The ‘3’ Jays. Jeff Patterson has had success himself as half of Huff ‘n’ Herb with ‘Feelin Good’ in 1997 reaching the top thirty. He is a much sought after live performer and sessionist, whilst the final third of the trio, Jim Lee, DJs all over Europe regularly and is never out of various studios.

A stellar combo that surpasses expectations on this feel good summertime release.

Alliance DC feat. Loleatta Holloway – Heart Stealer

R.I.P. Loleatta Holloway – one of the big tunes on the NEW YORK CRUISE sponsored by NETWORK, years ago, and more importantly this is the very first track on Ian Levine’s Saturday label.

Loletatta’s vocals have been beefed up by Alliance DC production with
Bob Povey, co DJ/Promoter of the legendary ‘Bump N Hustle’, one of the country’s longest running Soulful House, R&B and Soul nights in the UK, running since 1992.

Also a producer/re-mixer in his own right under the moniker ‘Awakening’ along with Matt Pope the new member, Bob has produced and remixed for a variety
of labels which includes SuSu, Slip N Slide, Defected, RCA, 4 Liberty and Sony amongst others. He has worked on productions and remixes with the likes of Toploader, Mary J Blige, Sounds of Blackness, Erica Badu, ATFC, Axwell, Juliet Roberts, Colonel Abrams, Loleatta Holloway, Adriana Evans, Sabrynaah Pope amongst a host of other artists for Alliance DC Productions. And this little number is one of the picks of the bunch!
